De Martino Legado Carmenère 2003
Maipo Valley, Chile
NH# 42796

The Legado Carmenere comes from the family estate in Maipo Valley. Produced from hand-picked grapes, this signature Chilean wine has a beautiful red color with traces of ruby. The nose abounds with ripe red fruits and shows marvelous intensity. On the palate, it is full-bodied with smooth tannins.

The wine spectator calls this "ripe with fresh modern plum and red currant fruit". An excellent rich, red wine made from the signature grape of Chile.

The De Martino family has been producing wine in Chile’s famous Maipo Valley for almost 70 years. The wines reflect the area’s terroir, resulting in big, rich, extracted flavor. Delicate use of oak adds complexity, but the strength of De Martino wines is in their fruit. These wines are concentrated and elegant, each with a distinctive personality. The winery just received a flurry of recognition from Chile’s most prestigious wine guide, the 2004 Guia de Vinos de Chile, which singled out De Martino winemaker Marcelo Retamal as “Winemaker of the Year” and named the Legado Carmenere as a top wine in its category.

Peñalolén Sauvignon Blanc 2005
Limari Valley, Chile
NH# 42795

A delightful wine demonstrating the promise in Chile of this celebrated grape. It owes its complexity to the purity of excellent fruit and skillful winemaking rather than external influences, such as oak. The aromas of mandarin orange, lemon zest and an underpinning of ginger harmonizes nicely with ripe tropical and citrus flavors. The succulent ripeness coupled with brisk acidity ensure a refreshing and lasting finish, making this wine a classic partner with food.

Tierra del Fuego Selection

In the Spring of 2005, a NH Trade Mission traveled to Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. Locally, several wine tastings were held and based on that feedback and tastings on-site in Chile , The Imported Grape elected to carry the Tierra del Fuego line, which it presents under its “Cono Sur Selection”

The tradition of Viña Cremaschi Furlotti starts in Italy with my great-grandfather", indicates Pablo Cremaschi Furlotti, President of the company. "Later on, my grandfather migrates to Argentina where he founds Viña Furlotti, the fourth largest vineyard of the country, with 3.700 Hectares of vineyards, 1.500 Hectares of fruit orchards, oil factories and warehouses for 100.000.000 liters ".
